What Is God Doing In Your Life?

Sermon from Dr. Ronnie Floyd. Audio coming soon.

What is God doing in your life?  Have you asked yourself that lately?  Have you stopped long enough to push pause, and ask yourself that very serious question?  What is God doing in my life?

I want you to get a copy of God’s Word today.  1 Corinthians chapter 2 is our text.  I want you to look with me into the Scripture.  We’re going to read the Scripture in a moment.  I want to urge all of you that you get a copy of the Bible.  You bring the Bible to church with you.  We’re a Bible church.  We study the Bible here.  We preach the Bible here.  If you have iPad then download the Bible on the iPad.  Bring your iPad, stay off of email, and Twitter, and everything else, and dial into the Word of God.  But get yourself in the Word of God.

I want us to stand in honor of the Scripture today.  And as we stand in honor of the Word of God I want to read the holy Word, the inspired Word, the truth of God’s Word found in 1 Corinthians chapter number 2, beginning with verse number 6.  The Scripture says, “However, among the mature we do speak a wisdom,” notice this statement, “but not a wisdom of this age or the rulers of this age who are coming to nothing.  On the contrary, we speak God’s hidden wisdom in a mystery, which God predestined before the ages for our glory.  None of the rulers of this age knew it, or if they had known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.  But as it is written, what no eye has seen, and no ear has heard, and what is never come into a man’s heart is what God prepared for those who love Him.  Now God has revealed them to us by the Spirit, for the Spirit searches everything, even the deep things of God.  For who among men knows the concerns of a man except the Spirit of man that is in him?  In the same way, no one knows the concerns of God except the Spirit of God.  Now we have not received,” listen to this, “we have not received the Spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God.  In order to know what has been freely given to us by God.” Amen.  Wow.  Thank you Jesus.  Mm. Mm. Mm.

We also speak these things.  Not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, explaining spiritual things to spiritual people.  Look right here for a moment.  Do you ever struggle with what God is doing in your life?  Do you ever struggle with what God is doing in your life?  Do you realize today there are times in your life when you cannot see what God is doing?  At times in your love it doesn’t matter how spiritual you are, you cannot hear what God is doing.  There are times in your life when you cannot understand what God is doing.  It’s just hard to comprehend.  You can’t connect the dots.  And there are times in your life when you just don’t like what God is doing.  I realize that’s a little authentic and transparent for those of you who like to play religion, but I’m just telling you there are times when you don’t like what God is doing in your life.

But I tell you what I’ve learned, I’ve learned that when you look back at your life, not to rehash old things, and certainly not to be turned into a pillar of salt or unbelief, but to see the hand of God, you can see His hand in many of those situations that you, you could not connect the dots before.  And your questions through the course of time, listen to what I just said, through the course of time receive answers that you did not know at the moment you were going through it.  I mean does anybody identify with that here?  And so there is power looking back in the right way to see the hand of God that has been working you.  And I look back at our family, I think about the way God cared for us, about the way God provided for us, about the way God protected us, and we did not even know we needed protecting, caring for us when we didn’t even like what it appeared was going on.  I mean He has been active, and I want to tell you today if you think God is dead; God is alive.  God is all around you.  God is moving around you, and what we’ve got to do is dial in to what He’s doing beginning with us, and around us.

That is what I’m going to talk about today.  Let’s pray.  Holy Spirit, arrest this audience.  Hold them up.  Do not let Satan take one thought that God wants them to hear, and to steal that thought because of slumber, sleep, indifference, or rebellion.  In the name of Jesus, bring captive every thought.  And we believe this to be so in Jesus’ name.  Amen.  You may be seated.

Now today what I’m going to do is that I’m going to take apart the text that we just read.  This is another reason that it’s important to bring your Bible so you can keep looking at the Bible when I’m teaching you the Bible.  So today I want you to look with me to the Scripture, and I want you to help me, and let me walk with you through what the Scripture is saying to you, and to me.  He begins to talk about spiritual wisdom, not the wisdom of the age, but the spirit of wisdom.  And He said, “However, among the mature we do speak a wisdom.”  In other words, for those who are mature, there is a wisdom that comes from above.  Now what does the word mature mean?  Does it mean you’re gray-headed?  Without hair?  Old?  Wrinkled and worn out?  Nah, it has nothing to do with that.

When He talks about the mature, he’s talking about those who are genuine believers.  You see this room is filled with a lot of imposters, not intentionally, but they’re deceived.  They think they have something they really do not have.  And they really need a transformation in their heart that comes only through the gospel of Jesus living in them.  But he talks about these genuine believes, these mature believers.  The word is teleios in the original language.  And he says that God has given a special wisdom to those of us who are genuine believers.  That wisdom is a meaning truth.  That wisdom means God’s truth.  That wisdom means it’s God’s perspective of life, not my own perspective of life.  And he makes a bold declaration for he says, “This is not found in our day by the people of this world.”  Pretty bold statement.

In fact, he says, notice in verse 6, he says, “This wisdom is not a wisdom of this age,” in other words, it doesn’t matter what the philosophers say, what the spinmeisters say, what the daytime television people say, the daytime, drive-time people say, it doesn’t matter what CNN says, all the way to Fox.  None of them hold the truth of God!  Only the truth of God is held, and contained in the Word of God, and he says all those are coming to nothing, meaning they are all being rendered to being made ineffective, and the only wisdom is from God Himself.  So words and wisdom in this generation are ineffective.  They are coming to nothing.

But then he begins in verse 7 to talk about God’s wisdom.  He says, “On the contrary indifference to the spirit of the age is departing, and has no real relevance to life.”  He said, “We speak God’s hidden wisdom in a mystery.”  And he talks about God’s wisdom.  Let’s talk about God’s wisdom for a moment.  What he means is how to live life by the will of God.  What I’m going to give you today, this, this moment here is not going to be seen graphically, but I want you to grasp it in your heart.  Let me answer for you the simple question, “What is God’s wisdom?”  God’s wisdom is living life by His will.  That’s God’s wisdom.  That’s what it is.  It’s living life by God’s will.  I’m going to make it real clear, you only gain the will of God choir, through the Word of God.  There are a lot of people today who say, “well you know this is what I think.”  It doesn’t matter what you think.  I know that might offend some of your ego, but I just want to notify you it doesn’t matter what you think.  Everybody got that?  It doesn’t matter what you feel.  Well I feel like I’ve been…I saw somebody write this week and say well from my experience this is what I see about God.  It doesn’t matter what your experience is.  The devil can give you any kind of experience you think is spiritual.  What matters is what God’s Word says.  And if, and if, and if what you say is true cannot be found in the Word of God, it’s not truth.  You had bad pizza last night, dude!  And you ate way too late!  It was indigestion; it was not a word from God.  And our generation is full of that.  God help us and save us.

But he says it’s in His will, it becomes a mystery.  Sometimes God’s will is a mystery.  The word mystery there is the word mysterion.  You know what that word means?  It means sacred secret.  Many times the will of God, the wisdom of God is a sacred secret.  What does that mean?  It’s a mystery.  You’re not going to understand it.  Those of us who have to know everything about all things in order to come to our own conclusion, we’re in the biggest trouble in this deal because in reality there are sacred secrets that will exist that you will never know, or you may not know until you get to heaven.

But some of those sacred secrets will be revealed, and listen to what it means.  It means that will will be revealed at the proper time, at the appropriate time in God’s time.  He says hey these have been predestined before the ages.  He throws in the doctrine of predestination.  What does that mean?  That means that he predetermined it before it ever began.  He looked at life.  He, he, he, His predestination is grounded in His foreign knowledge, meaning that God knows all before all began.  God never says, “Oops.”  God doesn’t run up against a problem and say you know what I didn’t think to do that.  No, God knew it.  And not everything that happens in your life is the will of God, but I can tell you one thing, it doesn’t matter whether it is or the will of God, or was the will of God, God wants to take whatever’s happened to you, and He wants to turn it to make you better, rather than bitter.  To make you a true man or woman of God, not simply some shallow believer who shows up at church periodically.

But He predetermined it before time.  His plan was for the ages.  In verse 8, he talks about the rulers in Jesus’ time.  He talks about how those rulers in Jesus’ time who are they?  What is he talking about?  He says none of the rulers of this age knew it.  In other words, none of the rulers could understand the wisdom of God because if they would have known the wisdom of God, and what God was doing, they would have never crucified Jesus Christ, and that’s exactly right.

In fact, I want to take the rulers to a whole different level spiritually.  Was he really talking about rulers we see?  Or was he talking about spiritual rulers?  I believe he was probably referring to both, but I guarantee you he was referring to the spirit rulers.  And Paul talks about over in Ephesians chapter 6 the rulers of the age, the rulers who are absolutely of a demonic force, and of the darkness, rather than of the light.  What was he saying?  He was saying that even if the demonic rulers, they did not get it, if the demonic rulers would have seen the overall plan of God, they would have never crucified Jesus Christ because what they thought was defeat was God’s ultimate victory!  You see when Jesus died on the cross, He died for the sins of the entire world, and on the third day He was raised from the dead!  His power is His death.  His power is His resurrection.  And I guarantee you if the rulers of the world would have been smart enough that they never killed Jesus, but they didn’t know that He would rise ultimately from the dead.

I like what Warren Wiersbe writes about that passage.  When he says, and I quote, “Satan thought that Calvary was God’s great defeat; but it turned out to be God’s greatest victory and Satan’s defeat!”  Amen.  You see, Satan did not get it, and Satan did not understand the full meaning.  May I just really help us to understand today the answer for the world is Jesus Christ, and the gospel of Jesus Christ.  That is the answer of the entire world.  The gospel is what people need to hear.  It is the gospel that can transform life.  It is not anything else other than the gospel of Jesus Christ.  Nothing else.  No one else.  It’s only in the gospel.

Here on this campus we have three wonderful crosses elevated to extraordinary heights.  175 feet, 160 fee, and 145 feet.  Those crosses do not stand in vein.  Those crosses represent a testimony that transformed my life, has transformed every one of you who are genuine believers, and will transform the generation in which we live.  Our hope is in the cross of Jesus Christ ladies and gentlemen, and we better not ever, ever, ever forget it!  Our message is the cross.  We are driven by the cross!  We are a cross church, if you may, that’s exactly what we are!

Then he goes on to talk about the questions that come.  He talks about in verse number 9 that, and he quotes a verse that is found in Isaiah 64:4.  Why did he do that?  Let me lay some context here.  Israel was in captivity because of their rebellion to God.  God was going to put them in slavery for 70 years in Babylon.  After a period of time they began to call on the God, on the Lord, and after 70 years in fulfillment to the prophetic plan of God, God delivered them.  It was God’s plan.  But you can count on it, while they were in that 70 years, you know what Isaiah said?  Their eyes could not understand it.  Their ears could not hear it.  They could not understand what God was doing, but I’m telling you there will be a day when God will bring all true people of His to His land, and He’s already doing it.  He did it then, He will do it again.

You see what this text teaches us is something so powerful.  Your eyes cannot always see what God is doing.  Your ears cannot always hear what God is doing.  Your understanding, your comprehension, your knowledge base cannot always understand what the Lord is doing.  You can rationalize until you drop dead, but you’re not going to understand everything God is doing.  And when it really gets down to it, you’re not going to understand everything until you get to heaven.  And once you get to heaven, I’m not sure you’re going to be near as concerned about the things that you’re concerned about today that you’ve got dialed into your heart that you’d like to know the answer to.

So in all of that, what does that mean?  The Scripture here is once again shown us that God has prepared; notice that in verse 8, God is prepared for those who love Him.  There is a plan that God is working.  That is a purpose that God is working.  And God is working, He’s worked then, He’s working now, He will work forever.  God is working God.  His activity is alive and well.  Is everything the will of God?  No.  Is everything that happens to your life, is it the will of God?  No.  Let’s say today that when we leave this campus many of us will get on the interstate, someone comes and they’re intoxicated with something they should have nothing of, and all of a sudden because they’re drunk, they run across the center median, and all of a sudden they hit a family of 5, and they kill them instantly.  Is that the will of God?  No.  It wasn’t God’s will for that guy to drink.  It wasn’t God’s will for that guy to get drunk.  And it surely wasn’t God’s will for that guy to go drink and drive at the same time.  He was a basic idiot.  And because of his own sin, and rebellion to God, and his rebellion of the will of God, a family perished.  God knows that occurred, absolutely God knew it would occur.  There’s some elements in life that are cause and effect.  Did God will it?  No, God didn’t will it, but God knew it.  Because God knew it, all those family members around that family, God wants to work in their life.  All of the situation in that God wants to work through that tragedy, but all’s not the will of God.

There are many of you hear today, your life is like a walking carnage.  You’re like a body on the side of the road that doesn’t know how you’re going to get through life tomorrow because the choices of others has absolutely affected your life in a drastic way.  Some on the job, some in your family, some in life.  I heard it said before, and I thought I’d share it with you today these words.  Everyday is a good day when you love the Lord.  Everyday is a Romans 28 day.  It may not look like a great day, or feel like a great day, but it is a great day.  That’s a pretty profound word.  In fact, I want you to get it, you know, sometime you’re here and you don’t get.  I want you to wear this.  I want you to think about this this week.  Everyday is a good day when you love the Lord.  Everyday is a Romans 28 day.  We’re going to talk about that in a moment.  It may not look like a great day, or feel like a great day, but it is a great day.

I remember what J.B. Hunt used to tell me as he aged.  He would always say to me laughing, with a grin on his face, “You know, at my age I can’t afford to have a bad day.”  Pretty good word.  But you know another way to say that?  Is that it may not look like a great day, it may not feel like a great day, but I’m telling you it’s a great day.  Now, you got God’s Word?  I wonder what Romans 28 says?  Many of you know this by memory.  If you don’t know it by memory, you should learn it.  It can help you be better.  “We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God.” That’s a pretty strong word.  We know, that word “know” is the word gonoscoe, meaning we know by experience.  All things, meaning everything they create, they create a work, they create a synergi, a synergy that goes on for the good of those who love God.  Did he say they’re all the will of God?  No!  He didn’t say that.  But he’s going to use those things for those of us who love Him, and those who are called according to His purpose.

What is our ultimate purpose?  To become like Christ!  To know God!  And God teaches us through good, bad, ugly, trials, crisis, mountaintops, great days, bad days, sorry days, stinkin’ days, He teaches us all if you’ll learn.

Verse 10 he takes the discussion to the following back in 1 Corinthians 2.  He says, “Now God has revealed them to us by His Spirit.” Now God reveals His work by the Holy Spirit.  Things have changed now!  The Spirit of God has come, Paul says.  And now the Spirit of the Lord is going to reveal to you the Word of God, the reality of God.  We see and hear the doctrinal revelation where the Holy Spirit reveals the Word of God to His people.

Verse 11 he talks about the Spirit of God, and how the Spirit of God knows all of God.  He knows His will.  He knows His way.  That’s why the Spirit of God comes and He gives to you what we would call the doctrine of the illumination, meaning that He illuminates you where you can begin to understand the truth of God.  And I want to say again the truth of God that the Holy Spirit reveals is not going to come because you experience something, even though He can use experience.  It will come because He has somehow or other revealed to you a word from God from the Bible, the Word of God.

Verse 12 talks about how now we have received the Holy Spirit into our lives.  I love this verse.  Now we’ve not received the spirit of this world, there’s so many of us, we think like the world, we smell like the world, we act like the world, we articulate by the world, we make decisions by the world, and you know what’s dangerous?  Is that some of us have enough of world, and a little bit of Jesus, we think that’s the will of God!  No! No! No!  This is not potpourri for the Savior!  He is saying there is a spirit of this age we have never been given by God!  But now we have been given the Holy Spirit of God, and by the nature of Him giving Himself to us, we now have possession, we now have freedom, we now have liberty to receive all the free things of God that are there for us to receive.  Wisdom like we’ve never had.  Insight like we’ve never had!  Direction like we’ve never had!  So now we can receive all that God has spoken to us.

He’s not only speaking to the future, He’s speaking of the present.  This where we see the doctrine of inspiration occurring because here was Paul as a channel of communicating the truth of God, and you know what?  There are times when we are nothing more than the channel of communicating the Word of God to the people of God.  And you know what?  I just want to pause here for a moment this morning, that’s all I am here on a Sunday.  Please understand.  I can’t gauge my worth by how you respond to me.  Because bottom line is I’m just like that guy I saw this morning drive in front of my house.  You know what he did?  He was there early, and he pitched out a paper.  All he did was just throw it out there.  Jeana walked out there later on, and she got that paper, and guess what?  She opened that paper, and you know what she saw in that paper?  What we call news.  News.  Guess what?  I’m nothing more than that paperboy.  That’s all God’s called me to do is to throw out to you the Word of God, and what you do with it is between you and God, it’s not between you and me.  But you will answer to God for everything you hear.  Amen.  And our hearts should be that we want to obey Him.

Verse 13 talks about how the Spirit teaches us through the Word of God, and God has turned those spiritual thoughts into spiritual words.  And all of those spiritual words give us life.  You know what those spiritual words that God has turned into from spiritual thoughts?  It’s the Bible. The Bible is the inspired truth of God.  Amen.  It is not what God thinks about every now and then.  It’s what God thinks all the time about everything.  And God’s truth is what we need to live our life by, and we’ll never be wise until we live by the truth of God.  Life is not about you having a PhD, or surrounding yourself with people who have PhDs.  Life is not about you being an incredible genius in law, or incredible genius in business, or finance.  Life is about you living your life by the authority of the truth of God, and the only way to wisdom is to live life God’s way, and by God’s will.  Period.  So you can be rich and dumb, you can be successful by this world, but ignorant.  How wise are you today?

You know what we need to think about, and I want you to think about this.  I don’t want you to ever forget this little statement here.  When the Bible is heard, God is heard.  That’s why we preach the Bible.  When the Bible is heard, God is heard.  We’ve got way too much.  Well did you hear what old so and so said about that?  Well, I’d love to hear that guy.  Boy he can really bring it.  We’re all around here and we’re quoting all these Christian leaders, and we’re quoting the latest book, or the most recent pod cast we’ve listened to, or we’ve quoted this, or quoted that.  Quote the Word of God!  Learn the Bible!  Let the Bible become your source of authority!  Men fail you.  The Word of God never fails you.

So today, how do you wear this out?  Let me help you wear it out before we go.  There are three applications I want to encourage you to make for your life.

Application #1:  God’s work in your life is often mystery.  That’s exactly what it is.  It’s a mystery.  You always do not understand what God is doing.  There are times when you cannot see it.  There are times when you cannot hear it.  There are times when you cannot understand it.  There are times when you cannot rationalize it, or comprehend it, but ladies and gentlemen, and students listen today.  God’s work in your life is often a mystery.  And those sacred things that God is doing that He’s not revealed to you, He will reveal in the proper time, at the proper time.

The thing I’ve found in my life when God makes an investment in me, He usually brings that around to use that in future for my life.  Anybody ever identify with that?  So what happens is we see God make this investment and then all of a sudden, we, we, we know that truth, and all of a sudden what happens is we start connecting the dots of how God’s going to articulate that in some way for the future.  But the problem is God doesn’t always connect the dots the way we want the dots connected, or the way we perceive the dots connected.  Because the dots aren’t about us.  The dots are about how God wants to work His will in my life.  And you know what?  God knows best for me when I don’t know best for myself.  God cares for me when I don’t know how to care for myself.  God protects me when I don’t know how to be protected.  God has a way, God has a will, and He predestined it before the foundation of the world for His will.

So God’s work in your life is often a mystery, sometime we just don’t know it.  The second application is:

God’s work in your life is always His masterpiece.  It’s always His masterpiece.  Always.  Remember every day is a good day, everyday is a Romans 28 day.  Romans 28, God is always working all things for your good.  He has a masterpiece.  He is building your life into being a masterpiece.  And I want to remind you again, you cannot see it at times, you cannot hear it at times, you cannot understand it at times, you may not even like it at times, but I’m telling you, He’s building you into a masterpiece.  And there are some of you today, you don’t know how in the world God would ever do that.  You’ve messed up your life.  You’ve messed up your family.  There are have been times when you have failed in some area of life.  How in the world could I ever overcome that?  How in the world could God ever use me?  How in the world could God ever forgive me?  How in the world could God do this?  God do that?  God do this?  Listen, that’s what the cross is about, that’s what the resurrection is about.  It’s called restoration.  It’s called repentance.  It’s called renewal. It’s called revival.  It’s called letting God do in you what needs to be done, and I’m telling you there’s not one of you that can out-sin the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, and His atoning death on the cross.

There’s a way.  There’s a will.  There’s a purpose.  And God is working all that out.  And yes, even though you look like crud on the outside.  God is making you into a masterpiece.  Even though your life is wrinkled with the torn choices of sin, many times, I’m telling you God’s working it out.  You’re like the jars that have been dropped or thrown down, and the Potter takes, and He puts them back together.  They may be back together, but they just don’t look the same.  Anybody identify with that?  But all that God uses for His glory.

Well Ephesians 2:10 speaks to this.  Another reason we need to read the Bible.  You know what Ephesians 2:10 says?  It says for we are His creation, created in Christ Jesus for good works.  One of the texts says we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time that we should walk in them.  In other words, God wants to use me.  You know why God wants to use me?  Because in the foundation of Ephesians 2 is the grace of God.  It’s the grace of God that saves me, makes me worthy to be used, that God can take all the junk of my life, and still so chose to use me!  And He calls me His workmanship, His masterpiece!  Oh my soul!  I don’t look like a masterpiece!  I don’t feel like a masterpiece!  And I don’t know anything about painting!  And if I knew something about painting, and I don’t need a lesson either, by the way, but you know that’s not my calling.  But if I was a painter, I could probably tell you a whole different insight to this.  But that’s not me, but I can tell you one thing I can tell you.  It doesn’t matter what crud you’ve had in your life, God is building you to be a masterpiece if you respond to everything in your life by the Word of God, and by the will of God, and with the Spirit of God and His power.  I’m telling you He can make you what you need to be.

This past week on Twitter I saw something that Charles Spurgeon said.  It has so resonated with me; I want to share it with you today.  Spurgeon was a great preacher in London years and years ago.  Spurgeon said these words, “Lord, I believe.  I must truth Thee wholly.  What else can I do?  Trusting Thee is my life.”  Oh listen; you need to really get yourself into this deal today.  You need, you need to stop letting Satan take the Word from you.  You need to hear this Word.  Lord, I believe!  I must trust Thee wholly!  What else can I do?  Trusting Thee is my life.  Do you realize that’s where life began for you when you put 100% trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.  That’s why many of you, you need to make Christ your Savior and Lord today.  It’s the beginning walk of what it means to trust.

And then finally today:

God’s work in your life will be revealed.  At times it’s a mystery.  It’s always His masterpiece.  But I’m telling you; God’s work will be revealed.  It will be revealed.  How will it be revealed?  One of three ways, or a combination of all three.

1.            By His Spirit.  His Spirit at times reveals to you what God is doing.  I still want to say to you, you want to hold tight with the Word there, because there’s a lot of issues when you start going by what you’re interpreting God telling you.  And if it’s not verified by the Word of God, I’m telling you, you’re in error.  It doesn’t matter what kind of experience you have, the devil can give you any experience you want.  He’s fully capable except true, biblical salvation in Jesus Christ.  So by His spirit, or:

2.            Through His Word.  He reveals through His Word.  That’s why we need to be Bible Christians, Bible-driven Christians.  I don’t know how in the world you’re Christian without being driven by the Bible.  What are you going to do?  Use a little bit of this?  Use a little bit of this and come up with what you think is cool?  No.  No.  No.  But you are in that process of being in the will of God revealed through His Word.  And then one day the will of God will be revealed where?  In heaven.  In heaven.  Now will you know everything?  No, you will not know everything.  You will not understand everything.  And I say it again.  I don’t believe when you get to heaven one day it’s all going to matter to you at that point.  But

3.            In heaven. So one day you’re going to know it.  One day you’re going to understand it.  One day at the appropriate time God will reveal.  A couple of weeks ago I stated to you a phrase, and this phrase has really been on my heart.  And I want to revisit that briefly as we move to closure today, and here is the statement:  We cannot trust God and ourselves at the same time.  Why is that?  Why is that?  Because our eyes and our mind cannot comprehend what God is doing.  He reveals by His Spirit, through His Word, or in heaven!  That’s what He does.

And I want to challenge you today that’s what life is all about.  We cannot trust ourselves and trust God at the same time.  We need to understand that.  We need to get a hold of that.  We need, we need to grab that, and it’s so difficult to understand.  Ah but listen, we’ve got to believe.  We really struggle believing.  I, uh, I really want you to think about something before we go.  You say, “Well pastor, you said you were almost finished.”  I am.  But I’ve got to really challenge you on something.  Do you remember what Spurgeon said?  You come to points, and times in your life when you’ve just got to say Lord, I believe.  Lord, I believe.  I must trust Thee wholly.  What else can I do?  Trusting Thee is my life.

My soul, that’s so powerful!  Because there’s where we’ve got to get in life, man, in order to make it.  God, I’m just going to believe!  I’m going to trust You wholly!  And, and you know, what else can I do?  Well I know a few things I can do, I can call this guy, and call that guy, and I’m going to tell you, you go on and do it big guy, and you’re going down.  And the age of indifference, and the age of deception will captivate you, and you will live your life thinking you have something, and in reality you don’t.  And it’s called trust and faith in the Savior, and Him alone.  What else can I do?  Trust in Me is my life.

Oh I tell you all kind of folks are filled all over this auditorium today, all kind of people are watching by television, lives are full of wounds, and hurts, and they crate’s marked damaged, but I’m telling you there are times you just need to give up, and you just need to trust what God is doing.  And may God somehow, someway today make us living testimonies where we have in our hearts, “What else can we do?”  Now I always don’t see, and I always don’t like it, and I always don’t understand it, and always can’t hear it, but Lord, I’m trusting You, because trusting You is my life.
