Young Leaders and the GCR
Yesterday I had a call with fifteen young leaders in the Southern Baptist Convention. These men are really young leaders, most in their 20′s and others in their early 30′s. What a blessing that time was yesterday.
The topic of conversation was the Great Commission Resurgence of the Southern Baptist Convention. These young men are stoked over the possibilities ahead for our convention of churches. They believe with all their hearts this is right and we must go forward. The emphasis on church planting and moving more monies to the reaching of the nations really excites their hearts.
These young men believe that if the Southern Baptist Convention embraces the GCR vision this June, there is a real possibility we will have many younger pastors who will bring their churches into our convention. Only time will tell whether this does occur, but they also know the young leaders we still have with us will become more on board with the entire vision of our convention.
While these young leaders are fired up about the GCR’s influence upon our convention of churches, the Southern Baptist Convention has a big responsibility to create a future that will meet the needs of this rising generation. At the same time, we need all generations to come along with the leadership of the Lord for the future Southern Baptist Convention. At this moment, none of us know what that may be, but at least the GCR vision provides us some future and hope. Surely all generations can go together to Orlando for the sake of the Gospel and its advancement to the ends of the world.
For the record: I love young leaders, they fire me up!

Dr. Floyd….I as well believe this is a much needed move. I am fired up about the days ahead for our Convention, state conventions, and local associations. I can’t wait until June. LOSTENESS RINGS IN MY HEAD EVERYDAY….What will we spend to reach the lost and will we give our self away to reach them–it takes both! God send us a Revival! Thanks for all you do for the Kingdom and thank the task force for all their hard work. We are praying for you.
by the way is 43 old?—LOL!
