New Orleans Saints, the Real Deal

New Orleans Saints, the Real Deal

Those New Orleans Saints are the real deal. What a courageous night of coaching and playing by the coaching staff and Saints players. I am very surprised they could defeat the Colts, but they are the real deal. They are better than all of the football world believed, and who knows, they may have a winning run for the next few years.

The whole amazing story of Drew Brees, the game’s MVP, is so commensurate with the city of New Orleans and its story. I am so impressed with him and his incredible spirit and play. He called tonight, “Destiny.”

Now, football season is over. We enter a new moment in 2010. While Drew Brees rejoices in his accomplishment and the Super Bowl victory of their team, it appears his faith will live through him in these days. I have heard he is a committed Christ-follower; in fact, several of the Saints have a vital walk with Christ. I rejoice with this incredible American story.

Four years ago, most believed that the city of New Orleans would never come back. Yet, now, the city is rebuilding slowly and the Saints franchise helps them realize the great American dream. Oh friends, what a great nation we live in today. Yes, even with all of the problems, America is a great nation.

May God continue to bless New Orleans, especially with a strong witness of the gospel.
