Fear

Categories:Between Sundays

Because of all that is happening in our nation at this time, most people are absolutely paralyzed with fear. The online dictionary, Wikipedia, defines fear as “an emotional response to threat or danger.”  Fear does harmful things to us today, but also has a damaging effect for the future.

  • Fear paralyzes you in the present.
  • Fear forfeits your future.

The Greek word for fear is “deilia,” meaning “cowardice and timidity, coming from a weak character.”  We need to call fear out for what it really is:

  • Cowardice
  • Shameful
  • Demonic

Denounce fear in your life today. Call it out for what it is and rebuke it – - this will be the beginning of overcoming it!  We can face the future without fear:

  • In the power of the Holy Spirit, who gives us the power to overcome ALL obstacles and dangers.
  • With the love of Jesus Christ
  • With sound judgment that only comes from God and His Word.

We cannot fight the fight or face the future with fear, so make the choice today to overcome it through the power of the Holy Spirit, with the love of Jesus, and with sound judgment from God’s Word.  Then, someday, you will be able to say:

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” (2 Timothy 4:7)

Be here on Sunday to worship together with your family of faith and get another word from God!
