History Is Made In America Today
For the first time in American History, an African-American man will be the President of the United States of America. This is a huge advancement for America and is a proud moment for every American. I remember as a child, sitting on the floor of our den, watching with my parents news stories of the great Washington D.C. speech by Dr. Martin Luther King. America is a great nation and today is another sign of its greatness.
Today, Barack Obama will become the President of the United States of America and Michelle, his wife, will become the First Lady of our nation. Their daughters, Malia and Sasha, will grow up under the watchful eyes of the world. In this new and exciting era in American history, I am calling upon you today to pray a prayer of blessing upon this family.
Dear friends, let me challenge you today:
*Pray for President Obama and his family daily
*Their protection and safety
*Wisdom in their decision-making
*Support the President in all decisions you believe honor God’s Word
*Be optimistic about the future of America
*Believe in the American people
*Ultimately trust in the Lord that He is in control of all things
Today, we say thanks for the Presidency of George W. Bush for the years he has served our nation faithfully as our President and at the same time, we say welcome and God’s blessing to our new President Barak Obama.
May God be honored in our nation, “O Lord, let it be.”
