Shiloh Saints Win State Championship 42-18

Categories:Between Sundays

The Shiloh Christian Saints won the AAAA State Football Championship on Saturday, defeating the mighty Pine Bluff Dollarway team by a score of 42-18.   It was a very intense and fast-paced game.  The great athletes of Pine Bluff were served to be a terrific challenge for our team.  However, great discipline and patience by the Saints resulted in a special championship score of 42-18.

This is the third year in a row for Shiloh to reach this game, winning it all two years ago, losing in overtime last year, but this year winning the game profoundly.  Here is just a little trivia for you.  This is the eighth time in the last 12 years Shiloh has been in the State Championship game, and this is their fifth State Championship.  This is a remarkable run considering our team plays against the public schools of Arkansas.

Therefore, our congratulations goes to Coach Josh Floyd and his coaching staff, the team itself led by 10 seniors, and the spirit groups of the school.  It has been a fun and great ride this fall.  The Saints were defeated the first game of the year by the national powerhouse, Shreveport Evangel High School, but then rolled off 13 victories in a row, resulting in Saturday’s state championship game.  Our young men who played were remarkable and great sportsmen.  They played with the highest level of commitment, continually being a testimony for Jesus Christ.  We are a blessed ministry with this school.  Our congratulations to Ben Mayes, the President of our school and the administrative team.  They work together to make all areas of our school excel.

The blessings of God are always special, even in the sports we enjoy playing in life.  Thanks Lord.
