Meredith and Reese Caroline Are Here for a Few Days
Nick is at a doctoral seminar at Liberty Theological Seminary this week, therefore, Meredith and Reese Caroline drove up to see us yesterday. They will be with us until Friday morning. Reese continues to grow and become more beautiful by the day. It is always great to have them here.
I ran in last night after work, saw Reese and Meredith briefly, and then had to run to my annual Fantasy Football Draft. It was a great time of fellowship and fun. While most of our guys in that league take it very seriously, I only studied the players briefly to prepare. Some of my picks probably demonstrated that as well. I took a couple of major risks in my first and second round choices. I was in a challenging place because I drafted in the #7 spot in our league. My first round choice was Tony Romo and my second round choice was Darren McFaddin. Both of those would be considered risks at the level I drafted them. However, they could also pay off big-time.
The greater the risk, the greater the reward. Of course, that is if the risk proves to be wise.
Faith is not a risk. Believing-faith has Jesus Christ as the object of our faith. The bottom-line lesson today, believing-faith in Jesus in all things is not a risk, but a guarantee for reward.
