It was great to be home and worship with you last Sunday! Jeana & I are looking forward to this Sunday, August 3, our John 3:16 Sunday with Dr. Jerry Vines. Dr. Vines is one of my favorite preachers due to his humor and practical nature, but he is also a great scholar of God’s Word. He was the pastor at the First Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida for over 20 years before he retired in 2006. He was also the President of the Southern Baptist Convention for two terms and was the President of the Southern Baptist Pastors’ Conference from 1976-1977. He and his wife, Janet, have four children and seven grandchildren. You’re really going to love hearing him.

Summer is almost over and people are beginning to think through new patterns for their lives: school, church, exercise, etc. The next few Sunday will be a great time to think through how you want to live and how you want to reach others. There’s no better time to start reaching people than now. Please use this Sunday as an opportunity to bring someone with you to church. It’s going to be a great day, and who knows, God may use you to partner in changing someone’s “forever.”
