The Blessings of Spiritual Unity
Yesterday, I revealed that the key to blessing is spiritual unity in our relationships with God, others and our church. When we maintain spiritual unity, we receive spiritual anointing.
Psalm 133:1-3 gives us a good word picture of what this anointing looks like:
Behold, how good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity! It is like the precious oil on the head, running down on the beard, on the beard of Aaron, running down on the collar of his robes! It is like the dew of Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion! For there the LORD has commanded the blessing, life forevermore.
This passage shows us that the anointing will be overflowing. When Aaron, the High Priest, was about to represent the people before God, they anointed him with oil. Not a drop of oil, but an excessive amount of oil, overflowing oil. It ran from his head, to his beard, to his robes. It was extensive.
These verses also show that this anointing is refreshing. The passage mentions Mount Hermon. Mount Hermon is covered with snow at its highest level. When weather conditions are right, the whole chain of mountains connected to Mount Hermon are covered with dew from the snow of this mountain. When we live in unity, our relationships will receive this kind of refreshing.
Are you receiving the anointing of God? Are you living in unity?
