Just Thoughts

I want to take some time this morning to give you some thoughts I have had since my return from the Holy Land.

  1. We have over 750 people attending the Business Persons Summit today at noon. Our final guest for this season is Bobby Petrino, Head Football Coach of the University of Arkansas. We have had a fine Summit season this winter. We need to celebrate this forum that invests in several hundred leaders each week.
  2. Invent The Future is happening. We are working with great diligence to see the future. Much work, many hours, and great cooperation is resulting in us forging towards a great future as a church.
  3. Our “Come, Celebrate The Cross” message series is taking off. We kicked the series off on Easter weekend, and now we will continue for seven more weeks. If you were here last week, you had to be enthusiastic about the worship music written for this special series. Josh Stanbery and Kim Noblitt have done a great job helping us worship through the fabulous tunes they are writing. Thank God for these men and their staff teams.
  4. Energy Conservation is something that we are addressing as a staff team and church. We have gone into partnership with an energy management company that will lead us in evaluating our practices, and will also help us implement a plan for energy conservation. We are very excited about this and we are committed to this stewardship. The more money we save through conserving energy, the more we can do for God in ministry. At our quarterly staff team meeting on Wednesday, we launched our program on energy conservation. The prospects for it are great, so we are working towards seeing it happen.
  5. Jeana and I are pretty exhausted right now, so pray for us. We got home from Israel last Thursday afternoon, immediately engaged to finalize matters for Easter weekend, of which I preached four times in the six services offered. After speaking around 20 times in Israel and leading a group of 79 people for 10 days, going through Easter weekend, then being immersed in meetings all Monday-Wednesday, we are pretty tired. We need prayer, so please lift us up to Jesus.

These are my thoughts for now . . . Have a great weekend!
