What a God, what a church, and what an opportunity!

Categories:Between Sundays

What a great and mighty God we serve.  My heart is overflowing from the wonders and blessings He gave to our fellowship this past week.  Great vision demonstrated, people responding enthusiastically, and lives changed by God’s grace.  Yes, all because of a great God.  We have learned some marvelous insights on God from the book of Job and with only one more week to go, we will even learn more.  Never have I been so overwhelmed with the blessings from His Word that leads us to share insights on God and His character and how all of that relates to our lives.

What a great church you are. The Lord’s people are praying, and God’s power is being demonstrated. These are exciting days. Be sure and camp out on our websites to learn about both campuses. Jeana and I are being so blessed daily by notes and even some gifts being given to us by so many of our people. In the midst of this 20 day countdown to our 20th anniversary, we are being blessed with love. Jerry VinesThere is nothing like the people of God. Thanks so much to all of you. BY THE WAY:  DO NOT MISS OCTOBER 29! IT WILL BE ONE FABULOUS DAY AS PREPARATIONS ARE BEING MADE FOR THOUSANDS TO BE IN ATTENDANCE … they are making room and making it easy for all of you. Celebrating 20 years of serving here is more about you than me. We will all be blessed and challenged by the superior preaching of Dr. Jerry Vines, former pastor of the First Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida.  Dear friend, you will love him and love his preaching. Do not miss hearing him on this day of celebration.

What an opportunity awaits us on November 12 and beyond. Both campuses will experience significant and powerful days … really powerful days. November 12 itself will be superior, powerful, and meaningful for all of us.

Yes, what a God, what a Church, and what an Opportunity … let’s seize it for His glory!

Fall, Fuel & football helmets

Categories:Between Sundays

Northwest Arkansas in the fall is awesome! The weather is beginning to feel very cool, the leaves are beginning to slowly change into their traditional blanket of orange and of course the referees’ whistle can be heard on the football fields throughout the region.

In addition to these great events, God always allows me additional joys for my life. Last night I had the privilege of speaking to our entire student ministry from our Pinnacle Hills campus. Just over 200 students filled the room with all the excitement and expectation that comes with teenage years. And, I am NOT so old that I cannot remember all the anticipation and struggle those early years carry. In a word, we had a blast! God is truly at work in that ministry and we will all continue to pray for His presence and power to be known in their group.

Besides all of that I was given two very special gifts: football helmets! I received a helmet both from the Rogers and Bentonville football teams. And, I am NOT so old that I can’t remember my own gridiron glory days back in Yoakum, Texas!

The power of a testimony

Categories:Between Sundays

Do you see these crosses which rise as a testimony at our Pinnacle Hills location? The message of the cross is our testimony at both of our campuses. At our Pinnacle Hills location, they will serve as a daily testimony to almost 100,000 vehicles a day that will drive by them each day. These pictures are two new shots Joey Licklider took and sent to me.

CrossesThe message of the cross is the message of our lives. People will just notice the crosses beside a church campus, the one that you hang around your neck serving as a necklace, the one that you have on a jacket, or one that serves as a part of a logo. The testimony of a cross is always stirring. It is a testimony of death, but also reminds us of life.

The only testimony that will bring life change from others will be the message of the cross that is lived through our lives. Pictures or necklaces or monuments go only so far. Yes, they are good reminders, but are not as influential as a man or a woman who lives the life of the cross.

Are you living the life of the cross? A life that is dead to yourself, but one that is filled with life from God. A life that is filled with hope for today and for the future. This is the message of the cross.

Live the message of the cross … if you do not, the testimony is limited or even forfeited in the minds of others.

Consumed with work … I love the Bible

Categories:Between Sundays

I am so consumed with the book of Job in my study time that blogging has become a challenge to me. I apologize I am later today, but oh my, this book is awesome! I regret that I have neglected teaching it for so long.

This book makes me love the Word of God even more. Its content and its powerful words recorded from God Himself stirs me up greatly….what a book!

I finished reading the entire Bible in 2006 as of early this morning, but I will continue to read it daily. Each year since 1990, I have read through the Bible at least once. It is one of the great blessings God has afforded me. Each time I complete it, I am amazed at all God has said to me . . . this time, I saw new things I have not seen before. Oh my friend, God’s book is awesome, just like He is!

Read the Bible today . . . what a book!

Hogs faced the Giants of Auburn and won!

Categories:Between Sundays

The game will be talked about in Arkansas as long as we live. On Saturday, the Arkansas Razorbacks profoundly defeated the #2 Auburn Tigers. The game was as beautiful and powerful Auburn University. One of our coaches told me that the noise factor was so loud, the ground shook!

Auburn was the giant of the Southeastern Conference and the #2 team in the nation, until Saturday. Now the whole race is rattled and college football pollsters are scrambling. The unranked Arkansas Razorbacks found themselves as the #17 Team the nation by Sunday night. Our schedule is friendly to move into a great conclusion in November.

Facing a giant is never easy, but all giants eventually tumble. Goliath did. Enron did. Others have. How do you bring the giants down?

  1. You have to believe. Do you believe the giants that exist in your life that rob you of joy and fulfillment are able to come down? You have to believe!
  2. You have to strategize. They do not come down without a plan. Use strategic methods to bring them down.
  3. You have to pray. Giants are like walls. They need to be destroyed when they are not in the right place. Some walls can only come down through prayer.

Speaking of giants, have you seen FACING THE GIANTS? Go see this movie. People are coming to Christ because of this movie. It was made in simplicity by some believers in Georgia. God is using it and raising it up. It will help you believe you can face any giant in your life and watch the giant come down.

You gotta believe!

Study on Job, New Book, & Razorbacks

Categories:Between Sundays

This coming Sunday I will be doing my fifth message in a seven-message series on the book of Job entitled, "When My Pain is Real." I have been refreshed by doing this series and have learned a great deal from the book of Job in my personal study. For years I communicated from it, but never beyond its beginning and ending. It is a fabulous book to teach – its content is powerful. Now that I have gone into much greater depth, it is fabulous! If you have heard it, I pray you are being enriched. If you have not, I am confident that you can go to www.ronniefloyd.com and receive the product.

By the way, I was in Dallas on Tuesday doing an interview on the Daystar Christian Television Network about my new book 10 Things Every Minister Needs Know. Daystar is now being heard in about 200 countries of the world. Within the last couple of weeks, they have heard from just under 100 countries across the world, including Iran, Iraq, and Israel.

Concerning the book for all ministers, have you sent one to a minister or ministers who have meant something to your life? Please assist us getting the ministry of the book out to all ministers. Regardless of age, tenure, position, location, or size of ministry, it is more than relevant. Initial email reports from it have been outstanding. Why? Ministers are dying for someone to help them. Please get the word out. You can see and order the book from the website above or any Christian bookstore.

May God grant blessing upon the Razorbacks against Auburn this weekend! Do I think God cares? Good question. I know God cares about people and since football is a people game and business, yes God cares. My only prayer is that He cares more about the people in Arkansas than Alabama!

Go Job, go Ministers, and go Razorbacks!

An important call

Categories:Between Sundays

I want to issue an important biblical and spiritual call. In reading the book of Isaiah from beginning to end, I believe the Lord quickened a word in my heart to challenge my life, and I used it to challenge our staff yesterday.

“ENLARGE the site of your tent, and let your tent curtains be stretched out; DO NOT hold back; LENGTHEN your ropes, and DRIVE your pegs deep.

For you will SPREAD OUT to the right and to the left …

DO NOT be afraid.” Isaiah 54:2-3a, 4a

When you read that, does God’s Spirit say anything to your heart about your life, family, or job?

I have become convinced that a desire to “GETTING EVERYTHING IN ORDER” is many times a barrier to this kind of visionary growth. No, this does not negate excellence being one of your commitments; however, we are not here to worship excellence. I mean in reality, does it ever “all get right?” A passionate drive for perfection will only cripple your vision. Be wise to the degree that you want “all in order” and “try to get everything right” before doing anything else.

I believe God issued this calling to me, even with everything I have going on right now with both campuses, as well with my own life. This text issues the following kind of call: to each one of us:

  1. The Call to PREPARE.
  2. The Call to EXPAND.
  3. The Call to FAITH.

Now is the time to prepare for the next expansion that needs to occur, the next “stretch move” for your life. Now is the time to “get ready” for the next move. What you do not get ready to do, you will never do. The Lord alone verifies if it is right, and the Lord alone controls the timing. At that point, it all comes down to faith. Sooner or later, some kind of launch is imperative.

Whether you are building your life or a business or a connection group or a ministry, sooner or later, all these of these will have to occur. Just ask God today if He is saying anything to you. If so, respond. If not, cool. More than anything …

Is it time to enlarge the site of your tent?

God is moving

Categories:Between Sundays

God is moving in our midst. We have seen right at 60 people come to Christ since last Tuesday! This is just through our Springdale Campus. We have seen this occur through various moments in the ministry but also along the pathways of our people. God is moving and bringing the harvest.

Both Student and Children’s Ministries on both campuses are seeing the hand of the Lord. The number above increases when it is coupled with some dynamic events, nearing 100 students and children coming to Christ within the last few weeks. No long-term event is taking place on either campus; just the movement of the Lord. God uses ministries, people, and even various events in all ministries. Yes, He is moving and we are grateful.

We must ever be before the Lord, knocking on the door of heaven for the ministry of the gospel in our region. There is much before us, and we must embrace it with a deep spiritual resolve that God and His power is our key to realizing our greatest days. This we cannot compromise at any level.

Be faithful to pray in these days. I am blessed by knowing you are praying diligently and fervently for the propagation of the gospel through our church. We have come too far at this point to give up or quit. The necessity is laid upon us. The time is now.

Yes, the time is now … pray.
